Tereasa Payne--Flutes/Ethnic Flutes/Woodwinds
Tereasa Payne is a versatile flutist who crosses stylistic borders with ease. A typical month of performances for Tereasa will take her from playing flute and piccolo with several symphony orchestras, to playing saxophone accompanying world-renown artists on tour, to playing flutes, ethnic flutes, clarinet, and saxophone in National touring shows throughout Florida.
Tereasa is a member of the Florida Lakes Symphony, and the Craig Turley Orchestras (providing music for National touring Broadway shows and artists throughout Florida). She also performs regularly with the Southwest Florida Symphony, the Orlando Philharmonic, the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra, the Spanish Lyric Theater, and several other orchestras and theater companies throughout Florida and the Southwest.
Tereasa is proud to have studied flute with Marianne Gedigian at Boston University, Trygve Peterson at Arizona State University, Patricia Masek at Augustana College, and Cindy Meyers (currently solo piccolo with the Boston Symphony) in Omaha, Nebraska. Tereasa has studied ethnic flutes with Jim Walker and Kay Ragsdale (Lion King Ethnic Flutist). She studies saxophone and clarinet with Simon Hutchings. Ms. Payne uses the vast knowledge that she gained from these amazing teachers to work with her own students. She is the Instructor of Flute and Chamber Music at both Daytona State College and Bethune-Cookman University. Tereasa also maintains a private studio of talented students.
Tereasa is an active performer and presenter at state flute conventions, the National Flute Association convention, colleges, universities, civic centers, and arts organizations. A favorite of audiences is her lecture recital, "A Tour of Ethnic Flutes" which features performances on eleven flutes from around the world.

Smith, The Temptations, "Aida," Bebe Neuwirth, "My Fair Lady" starring John Vickery, "Mame," "Chorus Line," Amy Grant, "White Christmas," and "Beauty and the Beast."
