Recorders

|
The oldest surviving recorder dates from 1400 A.D, although paintings show that the recorder was used even earlier than that, during the Crusades of 1100 A.D.

There are seven different sizes of recorder: garklein, sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, bass, and contra-bass. King Henry VIII of England was a recorder player and fan. He owned an impressive collection of 47 recorders.
